What are the basic steps in getting my web site up and running?

The four basic steps in getting your web site developed are:
1. Register your domain - Domain name is your identity/address to cyberworld. It is in the form of www.yourdomain.com which locates an Internet address for "yourdomain.com". It can be your company name or its abbreviation if chosen. Domain name that is available today might be registered by someone else tomorrow. So the moment you decide that you need a website, get your domain name registered quickly. If your domain name has been registered by other registrants, you should immediately change your chosen domain or you may contact that registrant if they want to sell that domain name.

What's your turn-around-time (TAT) for website design and development?

It depends on the range of the project as well as the current development works we are handling. In a typical development, it takes us about a week to start working on a new project. This time is being spent analyzing your competitors and going through some creative brainstorming. Then, the project can take anywhere from one week and up. Prior to starting the work on any project, we’ll give you a time estimate as stated in the defining phase of our Methodology section. As an example, a small brochure-style website composed of 6-10 pages can be finished under three weeks of time.

How do you charge your web development works?

In order for us to start on any project, first things first – we’ll need a down payment which is actually a percentage of the total project cost. We only need 30% of the total project cost for each plan. See our pricing for our services for more details.

Can I try your services first before signing a contract for a large system with you?

Definitely, yes. You may request us to do a pilot project for your organization. We will do it with payment upon successful completion only or free of charge, otherwise. It depends on what your "large system" really is.

What types of sites Matrixmedia is forbidding to develop?

Matrixmedia expressly forbids sites that have these goals:
- Pirated Software (Warez) - Any software that is copyrighted and not freely available for distribution without cost. ROMs, ROM Emulators and Mpeg Layer 3 files (MP3) all fall under this jurisdiction.
- Hacking/Phreaking/Phishing - Includes sites with materials, links, or resources for Hacking, Phreaking, Viruses, Anarchy, Phishing or any type of site that promotes the destruction or compromises the integrity of Matrixmedia.
- Adult Sites - Any extremely sensual or pornographic material, links to adult sites, or advertisements with/of adult (sexual) content, product, or services.
- Pirated Information – Collections of text taken from Copyrighted books, Magazines, News articles, Thesis reports, etc. without prior consent from its owner / author.
- Cult and Occult Endeavors – Practice, sharing information, and activities that collide/conflict with the Biblical Truth (The Word of God).
- Gambling - Matrixmedia will not entertain websites that are of gambling nature, such as horse racing, dog racing, online casinos or the likes.
- Any website relating to illegal activity or disseminating links to bigoted, hateful or racist content.
or any other material which Matrixmedia deems to be objectionable and that we feel is not an appropriate arena for our service, or which calls our company into disrepute virtue of an association with such website.

Search Engine Optimization FAQs

Is your SEO an automated service?

No. We do SEO that will be adapted for each individual client. First, we analyze what your market is and then suggest some keywords for your online presence. After that, we’ll agree on these keywords before starting the optimization work.

How long does the whole process take?

An estimated turn-around time of 2 to 4 weeks from the time when the page is submitted to the main search engines and web directories. It also depends upon the work needed to get acceptable rankings. The actual time spent on the whole process in each predetermined keywords is usually between 5 and 6 hours, the extra is during setup and waiting time for the paid inclusion to show results. Please note that with natural search engine placement, it may be necessary to keep a placement maintenance plan (see Full SEO Suite plan) in order to keep your site at your desired position.

How long before my web pages show up in search engines and web directories?

Some of them will be there in the first 2-4 weeks of the optimization work. Most of your web pages will start being added once the general submission commences after the page is finalized. This will take about 3 weeks or less.

Will my page shows up in all search engines?

This is very improbable as there are some search engines and web directories that will not list a page at all, no matter how many times they are submitted. Also, search engines and web directories constantly change the way they index pages (known as Algorithms) so that a page may be listed one day and the next is none at all or vice versa. The nature of the pages created with our Search Engine Optimization minimizes the risk of search engines suddenly deciding that pages are unsuitable and dropping them from their databases.

What is bandwidth and data transfer?

While similar, bandwidth and data transfer are actually two different things. The term bandwidth denotes the amount of data that can be moved at one time from a web server out onto a network and across the Internet.

You can think of bandwidth as the diameter of a water pipe. The bigger the diameter of the pipe, the more water you can move, even if the water is moving at the same speed.

Data transfer (AKA bandwidth usage) refers to the amount of data/information sent to or received from your hosting account on the server over a specified period of time. In most cases, data transfer is measured monthly, although it can be measured daily in high volume situations.

Looking back to the analogy we used before, data transfer would be the measure of how much water has actually flowed through our pipe over a given period of time.
